席尔维斯史泰龙( Sylvester Enzio Stallone), 1946年6月6日出生于美国纽约，小时候的史泰龙在同学眼中可一点都没把他和动作片巨星连在一起，同学还觉得他是「最有可能在电椅上结束生命的人」，想想史泰龙日后的成就也算是扬眉吐气了，当然，初入电影圈的史泰龙，免不了仅能接触一些跑龙套的小角色，终于在演出自己编写的剧本洛基后，小媳妇出头天，而后的反暴特勤组及Victory虽然票房不如预期，但第一滴血蓝波一角将史泰龙再往上推一层，观众爱死了这个话不多、坚毅不屈、怎么折磨都不死的John Rambo。

史泰龙在萤幕上的表现为他获得不少掌声，曾被选为全球100大电影明星及列名于最顶尖的20名动作巨星之内的史泰龙并不以此为满足，他极速竞赛中就跳脱动作影片的制式框架，从题材的选择到角色的诠释，都可以看出史泰龙的用心，尤其是在片中谈到关于「人生的第二个机会」这个概念，就某种程度而言就如同在形容史泰龙的演艺之路一样，心理历程的转折相当清晰。

相信很多人都是从洛基开始认识席维斯史泰龙，也因为洛基这部影片涤讪史泰龙在好莱坞武打动作巨星的地位；虽然史泰龙以在好莱坞片酬排行榜中算是顶尖级的男演员，不过史泰龙更想突破的是争取更宽广的表演空间，尤其是他积极的想争取喜剧及剧情类影片的演出，但观众及片商仍看好他矫健的身手，如极速竞赛史泰龙仍有精采及高难度的动作表现。

可是别看史泰龙身手矫健，他却有一个会终身伴随着他的遗憾，那就是在他出生时，医生使用产钳的处理不当，造成他左脸的部分肌肉麻痹，所以在说话的时候会有些许的含糊不清，不过，人只要一红，任何特征都会变成特色，当史泰龙站上好莱坞一线男星的位置时，他独特的发音反而和他俐落的表演一样成为焦点。
