In July 2005, Chen was given the role of Young Nala in Disney's Lion King at the Regent Theatre Melbourne. The Melbourne season concluded in June 2006. She was offered the same role by Disney to perform in Shanghai's Grand Theatre, for the season of July 2006 to October 2006.[1] After the Lion King performances in Shanghai, Kimberley frequently stayed to perform in a Shanghai Television Show.[clarification needed]
